4/14/2012

We may be on the eve of some very strong and severe storms as a strong low pressure system pushes through the Great Plains into the region. In addition, southerly winds will push warm, humid air into the system and basically provide the fuel for the storm. We might see strong winds, hail, and heavy rainfall overnight. During the afternoon on Sunday, a cold front will spur some more strong storm conditions along the front as the two fronts collide. The image on the lower left shows current conditions while the image to the right shows a prediction map indicating areas susceptible to thunderstorms and heavy rain.
